Wine Analysis
Alc Vol:
13.5%
Acidity:
5.95
Wine Background
Vineyard Region:
Waipara Hills Home Block Vineyard and Dunnolly Vineyard in Waipara Valley.
Vintage Conditions:
An early bud break exposed the vines for two weeks of extra frost risk, but thankfully Spring was both mild and relatively frost free. The vines eased into the Summer growing season and fruit condition was very good coming into veraison. We experienced some rain mid and late March, but a longer season had produced lower acidity and great flavour ripeness, resulting in fruit of quality.
Grape Variety:
Chardonnay.
Maturation:
Machine harvest fruit was cool pressed and settled before going into a cool fermentation. Some juice was transferred to barrels to develop greater complexity, while the majority was transferred to tanks to encourage fruit brightness and definition. The wine was then left on lees and stirred for three months, while it went through MLF.
