Sourced from both the Wairau and Awatere Valleys of Marlborugh, this generous, lifted Sauvignon Blanc with aromas of guava, melon, nettles, jalapeno and snowpeas. The palate has a fresh citrus and grapefruit approach with a textured mid palate and mouth watering finish.

Cleaned, settled juice fermented with a range of yeasts at cool temps, then racked off lees and kept chilled for 3 weeks before sulphuring and warming before blending.

Vintage Conditions: 
The cool spring slowed down the start of the season; but a warm and stable summer gave the best possible conditions for fruit and flavour development. Some rain at the start of the harvest period slowed things down, but didn't affect the overall quality.
Grape Variety: 
100% Pinot Gris
Maturation: 
Mostly machine harvested, cool pressed and settled then fermented in stainless steel tanks for freshness. The ferments were stopped when the wine was balanced and then left cold and unsulphured for over a month so the yeast could naturally settle and the flavours could develop.

The fruit for this wine came from two of our vineyards in the Waipara Valley - The Mound and The Home Block.  Bright plum and strawberry, with notes of chocolate and oak spice make this an enticing and very enjoyable wine.

The cooler season produced plenty of challenges for our vineyard team in Central, but produced elegant wines with fine tannins.

Maturation: 
The fruit was harvested over a 2 week period, brought into the winery and gently destemmed into the fermenter to start their cold soak. Ferment was 7-10 days, then the parcels were pressed, settled and then run to tanks and barrels. Mainly tank matured. About 22% was matured in French barrels and the remainder was in stainless steel tanks for a total of 10 months.

Sourced from our Home Bock Vineyard in the Waipara Valley this is a very fruit driven style of Chardonnay with subtle use of oak. Pineapple and stone fruit flavours combine with smooth buttery notes on the nose and follow through onto the palate. Dry and crisp with an underlying texture to balance the acidity. Serve lightly chilled with a light lunch.

Vintage Conditions: 
Bud break this year was late September early October followed by a settled and warm spring without any frost set backs. The plants enjoyed good growth. We went into an early flower set, the earlist on our records and alos one of the best. The summer and ripening season were dry and cool. Through the growing season we had 230mm of rain, the hottest month being December with an average temperature of 18 degrees Celsius.
Grape Variety: 
100% Chardonnay
Maturation: 
Once pressd the juice was cold settled for two days, then racked and warmed before going into fermentation in both oak barrels and tanks. Fermentation took avout three weeks, after which the wine was left in full casks and tanks for two months for flavour development. One tank started MLF and was stopped when the flavours were balanced for the blend.
