Vineyard Region: 
Sourced mainly from the Home Block Vineyard, in the Waipara Valley with deep free draining Glasnevin gravel soils.
Vintage Conditions: 
A cooler growing season with a lighter fruit set resulted in a longer ripening season.
Grape Variety: 
Pinot Noir
Maturation: 
Pinot Noir fruit parcels were soaked on skins for two days to develop colour and flavour. The drained juice was then collected, settled and racked before starting fermentation as a white wine. Once the desired sweetness level was reached, the ferment was stopped using refrigeration. The wine was then left on yeast lees for four months before preparing for bottling.

Vineyard Region: 
Sourced from The Mound and Deans vineyards in the Waipara Valley, wiht deep free draining Glasnevin gravels.
Vintage Conditions: 
Pinot Noir fruit parcels were harvested in the cool of the morning, crushed and soaked on skins for 4 hours to develop colour and flavour.  The drained juice was settled and racked before starting fermentation.  Once the desired sweetness levels were reached, the ferment was cooled and stopped.  The wine was then left on yeast less for several weeks before removing from lees to retain the vibrancy of the fruit character. Finally the wine was fined using traditional methods and finished for bottling.

A mild spring meant no frosts during the flowering season.  This was followed by good fruit set during a hot dry December.  Warm and humid weather that followed meant early veraison, juicy bunches, then perfectly timed Nor'West winds to dry out the canopies before harvesting the well ripened and flavoursome Gewurztraminer.
