Sourced mainly from the Home Block Vineyard, in the Waipara Valley with deep free draining Glasnevin gravel soils.
Vintage Conditions: 
A cooler growing season with a lighter fruit set resulted in a longer ripening season.
Grape Variety: 
Pinot Noir
Maturation: 
Pinot Noir fruit parcels were soaked on skins for two days to develop colour and flavour. The drained juice was then collected, settled and racked before starting fermentation as a white wine. Once the desired sweetness level was reached, the ferment was stopped using refrigeration. The wine was then left on yeast lees for four months before preparing for bottling.

The start of the season was dry and warm overall, with stable weather during flowering which allowed the crops to set at a sensible yield. Like much of the country there was some rain over harvest but the North Canterbury sun made enough of a presence when it was needed most, producing concentration and spice that we expect from the Waipara Valley.
