Sourced mainly from the Home Block Vineyard, in the Waipara Valley with deep free draining Glasnevin gravel soils.
Vintage Conditions: 
A cooler growing season with a lighter fruit set resulted in a longer ripening season.
Grape Variety: 
Pinot Noir
Maturation: 
Pinot Noir fruit parcels were soaked on skins for two days to develop colour and flavour. The drained juice was then collected, settled and racked before starting fermentation as a white wine. Once the desired sweetness level was reached, the ferment was stopped using refrigeration. The wine was then left on yeast lees for four months before preparing for bottling.

Juicy red berries, spice, rich cocoa and freshly dug earth.
Palate: 
Nicely textured, rich and complex flavours of sweet red berries. A really elegant structure which fills the mouth with ripe fruit tannin and lingers long after the wine's gone.

This wine will continue to develop over the next 10 years

Vintage Conditions: 
The cool spring slowed the start of the season, but a warm and stable summer gave the best possible conditions for fruit and flavour development. Some rain at the start of the harvest period slowed things down, but didn't affect the overall quality.

Vintage Conditions: 
An early bud break exposed the vines for two weeks of extra frost risk, but thankfully Spring was both mild and relatively frost free. The vines eased into the Summer growing season and fruit condition was very good coming into veraison. We experienced some rain mid and late March, but a longer season had produced lower acidity and great flavour ripeness, resulting in fruit of quality.
Grape Variety: 
Chardonnay.
Maturation: 
Machine harvest fruit was cool pressed and settled before going into a cool fermentation. Some juice was transferred to barrels to develop greater complexity, while the majority was transferred to tanks to encourage fruit brightness and definition. The wine was then left on lees and stirred for three months, while it went through MLF.

Bud burst was two weeks early and Summer was cool resulting in a long growing season. The cooler conditions produced bright aromatics and fantastic texture in the Sauvignon Blanc and fruit was harvested in perfect condition. Harvest date: 13 April 2014.

The vines eased into the Summer growing season with a decent crop and the fruit condition was very good coming into veraison, with harvest looking to be early. Some rain came along mid and late March, but the longer season had produced lower acidity and great flavour ripeness, producing fruit of quality.

Maturation: 
Harvested primarily in the morning or at night, the fruit was pressed immediately to preserve the fruit flavour. No sulphur was added to help promote some browning, settle the juice and soften the phenolics. The juice was left to settle until very clean, then racked, warmed and inoculated with a range of yeasts to promote the texture of the wine. After the fermentation the wine was left on lees for a further three months, stirring weekly to keep the wine fresh and promote characters. Finally the wine was blended, fined using natural methods and finished for bottling.
